Future Plan as Educator

Education builds the nation. The future of the nation then lies on the hand of educators. This is the heavy responsibility of each and every educator and it is my responsibility.

Educating the young is a very rewarding job. It is a way to achieve immortality. To this day, I still remember all the teachers from my elementary to my college days. You know why? Because they become part of my life. Their knowledge imparted to me is the knowledge I am imparting to my students now. I am paying it forward and the best way to do it is to give it back, to my students, to the young people of Guimba.

Being educator is also a career. I do have plans to escalate myself to a higher level to be a principal or a supervisor perhaps. And taking up masteral is one way of enhancing my knowledge that will give me leverage to the educator’s career ladder.

One important benefit I am foreseeing being a teacher is that I know what will be the best education for my children. Every educator wants to teach the young and most especially their own children. That is my plan too. To help educate my own children, to educate them spiritually, emotionally, morally and socially rounded individual.

Being a teacher would also mean continuous learning to me. Seminars and workshops are also available for me to take advantage. In this way, I am also enhancing my teaching strategies.

Looking at the current trend, Filipino educators are not just confined in the country, they become global. Filipino teachers are in demand in US and Europe, contributing to brain drain of Filipino educators. I am not saying that I will be following soon. But I am not closing my doors. Hopefully the government will do something about the pay of teachers so that they are not forced by circumstance to work outside the country. A pay that will enable them to have a comfortable life.

Yes, being a part of it is life rewarding for me. I am doing my purpose in this world.

Experience in a Computer Class

In this generation, technology is a major force that affects our way of life. DVD’s, mp3, mp4, cell phones, cameras, plasma TV, internet, laptop, and computers and more, these are all products of technology. And these things are changing the way we live.

In order for us to be at part with this trend and not be left behind by others especially the first world countries we need to educate our students. And as a teachers we must equipped ourselves with these knowledge to have something to impart to our students. This is why this computer class is important to me. I need to learn for me to have a good understanding of what technology can offer.

Computer alone is a very broad subject matter. We have hardware components as well as soft wares. Programs alone are too many to learn. For me just the basic is all I need and more than that, I have to learn by doing it.

Taking up this computer class is a way for me to take advantage of what technology can offer. It has improved my knowledge in computer soft wares. Yes, I have realized that learning programs and soft wares is not that difficult.

I can now make a movie using movie maker, can make may own blogspot, and enhance my knowledge in using MS office.

Having taken up this subject I am positive hat I can be more effective as a teacher because I have equipped myself with additional knowledge on computers. And most of all, I have something to share and teach to Galvan High School students.

Experience as a Masteral Student

Nothing is more rewarding than to be back to school again. It is like falling in love the second time around. After 10 years from the time I received my educational degree I am back again and at his time to take up my masteral studies.

From the time I graduated from this institution, a lot of things have happened into my life. I have work as a chemist to a feeds company. I also joined the bandwagon of “Economic Heroes” being an OFW in Taiwan. The most wonderful of all I now have my own family, with a loving husband and two lovely angels. On top of that is being a member of the faculty of Galvan High School.

As a teacher, and educator I am imparting to the young people of Guimba. A profession that is very noble yet rewarding and in this nature of work, I must be knowledgeable enough of the subject matter I am imparting. This is the reason why I am taking this masteral study.

Taking this masteral study entails a lot of sacrifice on my part. First of all I have to sacrifice my time being with my kids who are in their babyhood stages. This means not being with them on a Saturday. It’s not an easy thing for me as a mother but then its part that I have to undertake. Second thing is that, I am here again, enhancing my knowledge from the professors who have equipped me with my education during my college years. It is good to be with them again. And most of all, being with my fellow masteral students who are very willing to share their own knowledge and experiences on the subject. I see a more responsible and confident classmates this time. Discussions are more alive and participative this time.

With all this experiences on this Masteral study, I am sure that I have gained more knowledge now and have “sharpened my saw” for me to be able to to effectively perform my duty as educator. And at the same time, it gives me the advantage in the career path that I am in.

Truly, taking up this masteral is a worth experience to cherish.
